Susan Macaulay aka Amazing Susan
Every now and then I end up meeting someone with, what I call, a super spirit. A person who’s so full of energy and life, that the spirit uplifts everyone else around.
Enter Susan MaCaulay (aka Amazing Susan) – self-described as social media-prenneur, who is funky, fit, quirky, maverick, feminist, activist and a woman who is not just working actively towards her goals and passion, but is also here to celebrate, motivate & inspire.
Going beyond the basics, Susan is doing something a lot bigger – she is serving a larger cause by giving women around the world a greater voice, inspiring them to be the best they can be and empowering them with the skills to use their voice through public speaking.
She creates an impact and achieves all of these goals through her successful platform: Amazing Women Rock (AWR).
AWR is an online community for amazing women and for those who appreciate them. AWR blog provides a refreshing dose of daily news, views, articles on role models, short stories, humour and Susan’s own opinions as well. Overall, this portal is a source of inspiration for women everywhere.
Amazing Women Rock’s Facebook community is over 24,000 members strong and recently the website made it to the Forbes list of Top 100 Websites for Women 2011
Susan is a also a public speaking coach and trainer.
In general, people who are good communicators contribute more to their companies, communities and towards their own development. Such people end up becoming more successful, dynamic and productive.
Susan uses her coaching platform to help others unleash their real voice. She will be training some of the speakers for the upcoming TEDxDubai 2011.
Another notable feather on Susan’s cap would be her recently launched initiative called “She Speaks Now”
“She Speaks Now” is a social media campaign where Susan shares inspiring, fun, cool and controversial quotes by women via Twitter and Facebook. These quotes will ultimately be published as an aggregate on her upcoming website.
The coolest thing about the “She Speaks Now” campaign is that you don’t have to be famous to share your quote; all you need to be is a ‘woman’!
So, going back to Susan…
When I had randomly connected with Susan for a casual chat, I had no idea what to expect. And when she showed up, she was adorned with her #PINK bling – I took a moment to adjust. It felt like a reflection of her strong commitment towards her cause i.e. supporting women.
After learning all about the initiatives which she has kick-started, her reasons for doing so, and getting a dose of her super positive energy, I am convinced that Susan is a great support and voice for gender equality and girl power.
She rocks and is an amazing woman herself.
